Features & Functionality

Yes! Download offline maps before your trip by tapping the + button and selecting “Save offline map.” Your downloaded maps, waypoints, tracks, and GPS tracking all work without internet connection. Real-time features like friend tracking, hazard reports, and weather updates require connectivity.

Yes! Go to My Content, tap the three-dot menu in the upper right, and select “Import.” We support GPX files for waypoints and tracks.

Yes! No Roads+ subscribers have access to off-road route planning. Create routes directly on the map using our comprehensive trail database to visualize your entire journey and plan multi-point adventures.

No, friend tracking requires an internet connection to share real-time locations between devices. However, your own GPS tracking works offline with downloaded maps.

We currently cover the United States with detailed trail data from BLM, National Forest Service, and other government sources. Base maps are available globally, but detailed trail data outside the US is limited. We’re working on expanding coverage internationally.

Account & Login Issues

Use the same login method you used when creating your account (email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google). Not sure which one? Try Sign in with Apple or Google first. If you’re still having trouble, close the app completely, reopen it, and try again.

This can happen if there are multiple accounts associated with your email. Contact us at support@noroads.app and we can help resolve this on our end.

This is often caused by restrictive WiFi networks (like corporate, school, or public networks). Try switching to cellular data temporarily to create your account. Once created, you should be able to use the app on any network.

Try these steps:

  • Switch between WiFi and cellular data
  • Temporarily disable any VPN or network security software
  • Make sure you’re on the latest version of the app

Try a few different unique username variations – with many active users creating accounts, some names may already be taken. Also make sure your app is updated to the latest version. If you continue having issues, contact support@noroads.app.

Subscription & Pricing

Yes! The basic No Roads app is completely free and includes track recording, waypoint creation, trail discovery, points of interest, and offline maps.

No Roads+ ($59.99/year) includes:

  • See friends live on the map with real-time location tracking
  • Live weather overlays (radar, clouds, wind, smoke and fire)
  • Additional map layers including topography, public lands, and more
  • Activity modes (off-road and waterway)
  • Off-road route planning
  • Early access to new features in development

Open the app, go to Profile > Settings > Account Type to see upgrade options. Promotional pricing (when available) only shows when upgrading through the app, not in the App Store subscription settings.
